Keirunga Quilts

Formed in 1979, some original members still attend today.  Group members are free to attend any or all of our groups. An annual week-long Exhibition is held in August to showcase the previous year's endeavours. Sewing weekends are held for projects such as new quilts/bags/hangings or for tutor led new techniques.

Other activities include day trips to Quilt shops in and around Hawke's Bay and visiting other quilting groups and Exhibitions. Every year quilts are made for charity, such as the Special Care Baby Unit of Hawkes Bay Hospital and infants attending the crèche at William Colenso College.

For more information on the Keirunga Quilters, please email our Group Contact Person, Liz Macaulay at
Come along to the Havelock North Function Centre to see the creative talents of Keirunga Quilters, ranging from art and traditional to more contemporary designs.

Members have been challenged, as a fun activity, to create a child’s quilt which will be for sale with the proceeds going to KidsCan. These challenge quilts will be judged and prizes awarded.  A child’s quilt has been made by members  to raffle, with proceeds also going to KidsCan.

A selection of members handcrafts and quilts will be available for sale.
