Keirunga Potters

The Keirunga Potters meet regularly and explore all aspects of pottery. Workshops by visiting Potters are held at the Pottery on a regular basis.

Adult Beginners/ Intermediate and Children's. Are held each School Term

Adults Monday and Thursday 7 9pm

Children Tuesday 3. 30 5pm

Cost - $100.00 per 10 week course this includes class tuition and 1 Kg clay.

Course content includes, hand building skills, throwing on the wheel and glazing.

Diploma in Ceramic Art

Study Ceramics Theory through Otago Polytechnic and undertake practical classes at Keirunga Pottery.

NZ only specialised tertiary programme in Ceramic Arts.

The transferable skills you gain during this programme can be used in a variety of field in the art sector, education and design.

New Zealand Potters Conference
NZ Potters Conference will be held at Waiohiki Arts Centre, Taradale in Hawke's Bay 15, 16, 17, 18 July 2016.

Equipment & Materials

Equipment available for use at the club includes eight electric wheels, four fully automatic electric kilns, a Raku kiln, slab roller and general pottery equipment. No equipment is to be removed from the pottery.
The club has an extensive library of more than 100 books, on all aspects of pottery which can be borrowed by members.

Membership Costs

Please contact us for specific costs, which are made up of three parts:
  • Membership to Keirunga Gardens Arts & Crafts Society Inc. ($50 per annum)
  • Group Facility Fee (variable)
  • Additional group costs (variable)
Some groups may also have external affiliation charges.
